CASE STUDY TEMPLATE
Project Description:
In 2020 we designed the first ship loader self contained toilet block for our client, overcoming the challenges they had with operators not having ready access to facilities on the ship loaders. The clients requirements were easily met with our unique self contained waste tank technology which we incorporated into the design.
The completed solution provided a practical and reliable amenities facility that could operate independently without requiring direct sewer connections. Designed to withstand the demanding conditions of a port environment, the toilet block improved accessibility for operators while minimising disruption to daily operations. The success of the project demonstrated the effectiveness of our transportable building solutions in addressing complex site-specific challenges.

The final outcome was a small foot print self contained toilet block which featured
- Reverse cycle air-conditioning
- UV Water Filtration system
- Cyclonic Region D specification
- Fresh Water Pump
- Fresh Water Supply
- 1500L integrated waste tank
In 2025, our client approached us again to reproduce a further four of these units for an upcoming project. Following the success of the original installation, the client sought to replicate the proven design while incorporating lessons learned from operational use over the previous five years. Minor upgrades were identified based on user feedback, evolving site requirements, and advancements in available technology.
One of the key challenges was maintaining the reliability and functionality of the original design while introducing improvements without impacting the established footprint and operational requirements of the units. Our team carefully reviewed user feedback and assessed opportunities to enhance usability, durability, and long-term maintenance outcomes. The final solution retained the core self-contained waste tank technology while integrating a series of targeted upgrades, delivering a modernised version of the original design that continued to meet the client’s operational needs.
“In 2025, we were thrilled to partner once again with our esteemed client to create four additional units for their latest project. Building on the triumph of our initial installation, the client aimed to replicate the successful design while integrating valuable insights gained from five years of operational experience. Through careful analysis of user feedback and evolving site demands, we identified key enhancements that would elevate the functionality and efficiency of the units, ensuring they remained at the forefront of innovation.”
