Cyclonic Wind Regions in Australia
Australia’s wind regions are defined under AS/NZS 1170.2:2021, which informs the structural design actions required for each location. These regions determine the minimum building standards for wind resistance under the NCC.

Each building is developed in consultation with a licensed structural engineer to meet the required wind loadings for its designated region.
A structural engineer assesses the building’s location, soil conditions, and orientation to create a compliant footing and tie-down solution. Our team coordinates this process and ensures all documentation is ready for submission.
Councils require formal engineering certification for all buildings in cyclonic areas, with original signatures and site-specific details. We manage this on your behalf to keep approvals moving smoothly.
Once delivered, the building must be anchored exactly as specified by the structural engineer. We help guide this process to make sure the installation is safe, compliant, and liability-free.
Cyclonic Compliance When Hiring Buildings
Hiring a transportable building for use in a cyclonic region still requires full compliance with structural and council regulations. This includes having a qualified structural engineer certify the building, design site-specific footings and tie-downs, and provide all necessary documentation.
At Instant Transportable Offices, our cyclonic-spec hire buildings are engineered to meet Region D requirements. While the cost of structural certification is not included in standard hire agreements, we can coordinate this process on your behalf to ensure full compliance.
